Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2023

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

2023 Ontario Sunshine List: Infrastructure Top Earners

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Infrastructure's 88 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $11,270,517.42 in 2022.

At the top of the Infrastructure Sunshine List

Topping the list for the Infrastructure was Deputy Minister Carlene Alexander, who brought home $348,326.02 in 2022.

Following Carlene Alexander was Deputy Minister Chris Giannekos, with annual earnings of $294,502.72. Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure Programs and Projects Jill Vienneau made $230,340.19, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure Strategy, Policy and Research Grant Osborn made $210,609.09, and Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastructure Program Design and Delivery Adam Redish round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $191,474.15 for the Infrastructure 2023 Sunshine List.

Among employees who received more than six-figure salaries in 2022, 27 received earnings between $100,000 and $110,000 followed by 48 who received between $110,001 and $150,000 , 9 received between $150,001 and $200,000 , 2 received between $200,001 and $250,000 , 1 received between $250,001 and $300,000 , and 1 received over $300,000 at the Infrastructure.
